Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme- Review & Swatches

Hi Lovelies,

This is my review blog from previous Make up haul post. I bought two beautiful lip shades from Milani Cosmetics. To know more about what all I bought read here.

Coming back to Milani Cosmetics, this is one of the best drugstore make up brand in USA. Unfortunately it is not readily available in India, and also India has become a large market for duplicate make up products so I thought I better buy it from USA. I got these two lovely Liquid Matte Lipsticks in shade Fling and Sweetie.

Packaging

It comes in a very luxurious looking slim rectangular tube with a golden metal closure. Applicator brush is a standard doe foot one but this one is flat and not angular like usual lipsticks in India have. Shade name is pasted at the bottom of the tube plus its transparent so you can easily make out which color it is.

Formulation

I love its formulation, it glides on super smooth on your lips. Completely non-sticky and it has a very nice mild fragrance. Compared to other liquid matte lipsticks available in similar range this one is far more non-drying and it feels almost nothing on you lips. Pigmentation is great, just one swipe and you are good to go.

Texture

These are quiet liquidy-creamy. I expected them to take a while to set on lips but only 30-40 seconds is enough whereas, Huda Beauty lip mattes take around 1-1.5 minutes to set. It is completely transfer proof once set and doesn’t look cakey even after couple of applications.

Wearability

Just to be sure I applied two coats on my lips and it stayed for good 4-5 hours. I believe this is a challenge for liquid lippie makers around the world to create such a product which can survive Indian food. As I made way with food it worn off due to oily content, otherwise light munching won’t make much of a difference here.

Shades

Color looks exactly same after drying as it looks while liquid. Both shades complimented my skin tone quiet well, so they will suit most Indian skin tones.

Fling is a pinky purple shade which I loved a little more over another one.

Sweetie is a completely warm nude shade.

Today i’ll be reviewing much raved about Tea Tree range from The Body Shop. My skin is very prone to acne since my teenage. I discovered this Tea Tree range couple of years ago while browsing products at one of the The Body Shop outlets, and decided to try it. Since then these products have worked wonders on my skin. My pores are visibly reduced, I have almost no breakouts (Touchwood! :P) on my face and my skin tone has become even.

I have 5 products to talk about here. Also, I have used their Tea Tree Squeaky Clean Scrub but right now i have consumed all of it so won’t be able to show you the product in this blog.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil

This one product is a life saver for me. It has worked wonders on my skin. This was the very first product i bought from this range and it reduced visibly reduced my pores. It is also very effective on acne and pimples, whenever i feel i am about to have a breakout i apply this on affected area during bedtime and guess what?! Its gone by the morning. I highly recommend using this for acne prone skin.

The Body Shop Pore Minimiser

This being the most expensive product in the range wasn’t that good for my skin. I used it religiously but couldn’t make out any difference before and after using it. So not buying it again. It has a lotion like consistency and it does feel smooth after application, but again no long term effects. I wouldn’t recommend using this, instead go for other products from this range.

The Body Shop Skin Clearing Toner

I have been using toner since many years now as it is a very important part of your skin care routine, So when i saw this on shelves i immediately picked it up. It is a magnifying toner and i apply it after using tea tree oil. I sometime use it as a make up remover and to sanitise my stainless steel beauty tools because of its alcohol content. You have to shake it well before using and activate the essential properties which set at the bottom in the form of powdery micro particles. I would suggest using this as a part of your skin care regime.

The Body Shop Skin Clearing Lotion

I use this as my facial cream in summers because i have really oily skin during this time, and it perfectly mattifies my skin. I also mix this with my Tea Tree BB Cream so that my BB Cream glides over my skin really smooth and it looks almost invisible. I would recommend this to use with Tea Tree BB Cream.

The Body Shop Flawless BB Cream

This was my first ever BB Cream and i was really impressed with this product. I use shade #02 and it perfectly matches my skin tone. I prefer using it during daytime when i don’t want to use foundation on my skin and just want sheer even coverage. I prefer to use this over any other BB Cream just because of its Tea Tree properties, because it does not give me breakouts like foundation do. I would recommend using this for acne prone and oily skin if you wish tea tree to keep working on your skin behind the sheer coverage.

All in all, mostly all the products are highly recommended for acne and oily skin. You do get 50% off on few products which is a good saving. To buy The Body Shop Tea Tree range click here.
