Ladies,
I think its time we break the period taboo and start talking about it!
Today I am going to do the same. With this article I am going to share my experience with Elize- A high end period solution for the modern day woman. Believe me girls I have always had the worst period cramps and menstruating is a nightmare for me like many of you. I have had friends who never even felt they were on their periods and then there was I, having worst time of my life. For those 5 days a month I really use to wish how easy life would be, if only I was a boy!
And then came Elize to ease my period woes. Elize is as modern as it sounds and their motto is to empower modern woman and ease her menstrual worries. Apart from period cramps what we all hate is staining! EEeeeks! I just can’t take it and I know many of us layer sanitary napkins to avoid spoiling our favorite pair of jeans or a brand new party skirt. Well I think we still have to pop a couple of Maftal Spas for those cramps but Elize will take care of the rest.
“Elize is an endeavor to transcend the boundaries built around menstrual hygiene care in India. We strive to deliver an exceptional product to all women, and an experience that makes them celebrate their bodies in every phase” is what they say.
I came across Elize while scrolling through my Insta feed and decided to ditch whisper and give them a chance.
It is a period subscription box where you don’t have to worry about your sanitary supply for at least a quarter. Let me detail it out for you.
The Composition – The cottony soft surface of Elize, provides optimal comfort and prevents your skin from rashes. It has a Bamboo charcoal anion strip in the center, whichaids in the release of negative ions and apparently helps relax the mind and body. These napkins are extra large in size with a wider back which prevents leakage.
The Packaging– If you go for a 3 month subscription pack, like I did, you will receive 30 beautifully wrapped sanitary napkins in an all the more beautiful Tiffany blue box which you can use to restock your period supplies. Each napkin is carefully wrapped in a plastic throw cover and comes housed in a ziplock bag for easy disposal. I like this the most about this box.
The Price– Of course! Luxury comes at a price. A 3-month-subscription for Elize is for INR 1299 which I think is little on a steeper side compared to generic Whisper and Stayfree. They also offer a trial pack which includes 8 pads for you to try for INR 399, but that does not include Tiffany Blue Box.
What could have been better?
After a fair usage of this product I would say there are a few things where there is a scope of improvement.
- Size of Pads– Elize currently offers napkins of only XL size, which I use only at time of heavy flow. For initial and last days I don’t feel the need to use XL size pad and hence I had to buy OTC sanitary pads in smaller sizes.
- Price point– Since it is only available in one size I had to buy smaller ones which increased my cost incurred in period supplies
- Odor control– I expected them to work flawlessly in any circumstance, but I felt they do not control odor as good as my Whisper does which made me a little uncomfortable around people.
- Value for Money– Obviously the price is on a steeper side compared to the way they worked for me. I think Elize can work better on this box and maybe can add more products in this box for this price tag.
Over all, when I compare this to other period subscription boxes which I have tried, there I have the freedom of choosing different sizes & quality, plus I also get some goodies which definitely makes me happy and of course for a much lesser price. Whereas with Elize, I definitely felt at ease while using them, I love the innovative ziplock disposal bags and beautiful box to store sanitary supplies like a boss and truly celebrate womanhood. But I do think there is a scope for improvement.
